In Vitro
Ethyl 4-chloro-2-(methylthio) pyrimidine-5-carboxylate (8 mmol; refluxed for 2 h) reacts with 3-methylpyridinamine in refluxing dioxane to yield ethyl 2-(methylthio)-4-((pyridin-3-ylmethyl) amino) pyrimidine-5-carboxylate with a yield of 91%[3].
