Euphoscopin A (2-epi-Euphornin I) is a toxic lathyrane diterpene with Kv1.3 potassium channel inhibitory activity, can be found in fresh leaves and roots of Euphorbia helioscopia and aerial parts of Euphorbia fischeriana.

Euphoscopin A (compound 1) yields a p-bromobenzoate derivative after derivatization with p-bromobenzoyl chloride in pyridine[1].
Euphoscopin A undergoes acetylation at 70°C to form Euphoscopin B (HY-N12730); it undergoes benzoylation at room temperature to form Euphoscopin C; and it can be oxidized by manganese dioxide at 70-80°C to form Euphoscopin D[1].
Euphoscopin A (compound 13) (10-30 μM) inhibits the Kv1.3 ion channel in HEK-293 cells stably expressing Kv1.3, and also inhibits the hERG ion channel in HEK-293 cells stably expressing hERG[2].
