PD 128907 is a D3 receptor ligand with activities of activating dopamine receptors, inhibiting cell firing, and inhibiting dopamine release. The active (+) enantiomer of PD 128907 has high affinity and selectivity for rat D3 dopamine receptors. PD 128907 inhibits cell firing in the ventral tegmental area and substantia nigra pars compacta with EC50 values of 33nM and 38nM, respectively. PD 128907 also inhibits dopamine release in the caudate putamen with an EC50 of 66nM. However, the selective D2 receptor antagonist L-741,626 has high affinity for receptors activated by PD 128907, indicating that the effects of PD 128907 are more likely on D2 autoreceptors rather than D3 dopamine receptor subtypes.

Alentemol hydrobromide (U-66444B) is a blood-brain barrier-permeable dopamine receptor D1, D2, D3, and D4 agonist. Alentemol hydrobromide inhibits dopamine release, reduces dopamine synthesis, regulates dopamine metabolism, suppresses the impulse activity of dopaminergic neurons, and decreases the impulse frequency of dopaminergic neurons in the substantia nigra pars compacta and ventral tegmental area. Alentemol hydrobromide is applicable to research related to schizophrenia .

GL-II-73 is a selective, orally active and blood-brain barrier permeable positive allosteric modulator of α5GABAA receptor, acting on the benzodiazepine-binding site of GABAA receptors. The binding selectivity of GL-II-73 for the α5 subtype is 6-, 11- and 12.5-fold higher than that for the α2, α1 and α3 subtypes, respectively . GL-II-73 reverses pilocarpine-induced hyperactivation of dopamine neurons in the ventral tegmental area, improves working memory and pyramidal neuron dendritic morphology in 5xFAD mice, but does not reduce β-amyloid load . GL-II-73 can be used in research related to Alzheimer's disease and temporal lobe epilepsy with comorbid psychosis .

Razobazam (Hoe 175) is a benzodiazepine derivative with cognitive activity. Razobazam has been shown to improve learning performance in socially deprived rats. Razobazam increased avoidance scores by 18% after training. Razobazam caused significant changes in the optical density of certain areas of the rat brain, including a 22% decrease in the lateral habenula and a 25% increase in the ventral tegmental area. Razobazam also caused a 13% increase in optical density in the prefrontal cortex of rats .

CIAC101 is a potent and brain-penetrant TLR4 antagonist with an IC50 of 17.0 nM in NO assay. CIAC101 blocks Lipopolysaccharides (HY-D1056) (LPS)-induced NF-κB activation and reduces the expression of pro-inflammatory mediators (iNOS, IL-1β, TNF-α, and IL-6). CIAC101 robust antineuroinflammatory activity with efficacy against drug-evoked neurobehavioral adaptations. CIAC101 can be used for the research of addiction and neurological disease .
