Neuro-DiI is a red retrograde Fluorescent tracer. Neuro-DiI is transported retrogradely to the cell bodies in the ventral tegmental area and labels ventral tegmental area neurons with red fluorescence[1].

In Vivo

Bilateral injection of Neuro-DiI into the nucleus accumbens (NAc) effectively retrogradely labels ventral tegmental area (VTA) neurons projecting to the NAc, enabling targeted electrophysiological analysis[1].
