2,5-Anhydro-D-glucitol-1,6-diphosphate is a competitive PFK-1 inhibitor. 2,5-Anhydro-D-glucitol-1,6-diphosphate inhibits the enzymatic activity of PFKP without altering the non-glycolytic regulatory function of PFKP. 2,5-Anhydro-D-glucitol-1,6-diphosphate does not change mitochondrial AMPK levels, ACC2 phosphorylation levels, long-chain free fatty acid levels, or ROS levels under glucose starvation conditions. 2,5-Anhydro-D-glucitol-1,6-diphosphate is used in related research on non-small cell lung cancer.

2,5-Anhydro-D-glucitol-1,6-diphosphate is a potent competitive inhibitor of rat liver PFK-1[2].
Inhibition of PFKP catalytic activity mediated by 2,5-Anhydro-D-glucitol-1,6-diphosphate does not affect the PFKP-regulated mitochondrial AMPK-ACC2 signaling axis, long-chain fatty acid oxidation, or redox homeostasis in H1703 non-small cell lung cancer cells under glucose starvation conditions[3].
