Blue dextran (Dextran blue) (MW 2000000) is a high-molecular-weight long-chain polymer of D-glucose. In Vitro

The release rate of Blue dextran (MW 2000000) (Blue dextran/sodium alginate ratio=1:1-1:6; 8 h) from sodium alginate microspheres slows down as the Blue dextran/sodium alginate ratio decreases, with the slowest release observed at a ratio of 1:6 and the fastest release at a ratio of 1:1[1].
The release of Blue dextran (MW 2000000) (crosslinking for 6-60 min; release monitoring for 8 h) from alginate microspheres is minimally affected by crosslinking time; compared with microspheres crosslinked for 6 min, those crosslinked for 60 min show a slightly slower release rate, while no significant difference is observed when crosslinking time exceeds 6 min[1].
The molecular mass of Blue dextran (MW 2000000) matches that of the dextran produced by free cells of *Leuconostoc mesenteroides* KIBGE HA1[2].
