Dextran T10 (MW 10,000) is composed of repeated glucose units, and it has abundant hydroxyl (-OH) groups, which can be used as a natural "magnetic marker" for chemical exchange saturation transfer (CEST) MRI imaging.

Dextran T10 (MW 10,000) (375 mg/kg, i.v., single dose) serves as a nanoscale chemical exchange saturation transfer (CEST) magnetic resonance imaging probe, generating a strong dexCEST contrast, and successfully characterizing the tumor vascular permeability of mice with subcutaneous colon tumors CT26[3].
