Biological Activity
Dextran is used as the encapsulation material for superparamagnetic magnetite nanoparticles, and can be formulated into a liver contrast agent for magnetic resonance imaging[2].
Dextran is conjugated with cytosine deaminase (CDA) from Aspergillus niger, which can enhance the structural stability, resistance to protease degradation, and anti-proliferative activity of the enzyme[3].
