N,N,N',N'-Tetrakis(2-hydroxyethyl)ethylenediamine and its metal complexes can be used for research related to breast cancer, leukemia, various bacterial and fungal infections[1][2][3].

In Vitro

N,N,N',N'-Tetrakis(2-hydroxyethyl)ethylenediamine (as its copper(II) complexes) shows inhibitory effects against Staphylococcus aureus, Serratia marcescens, Sphingobium japonicum, Stenotrophomonas maltophilia, Candida albicans, Aspergillus niger, and Saccharomyces cerevisiae with minimum inhibitory concentrations ranging from 25 to 50 μg/mL[1][2][3].
N,N,N',N'-Tetrakis(2-hydroxyethyl)ethylenediamine (as its copper(II) complexes) (48 h) shows in vitro antiproliferative activity against MCF-7, HL-60 and HCT-116 cancer cells[1].
N,N,N',N'-Tetrakis(2-hydroxyethyl)ethylenediamine (as its copper(II) complexes) (48 h) exhibits potent cytotoxicity against MCF-7 breast cancer cells with an IC50 value of 23 μg/mL[1].
