In Vitro

Due to its polycationic nature, Poly-D-lysine hydrobromide stimulates the endocytosis of different cell types. Poly-D-lysine hydrobromide is stable towards pancreatic peptidases^[1].

Poly-D-lysine hydrobromide (12.5 mg/kg; oral administration) improves glucose tolerance in rats. Glucose levels of Poly-D-lysine hydrobromide-treated rats are significantly lower than those of control/vehicle-treated rats at 15 and 30 min^[2].
