Description

Pyrazine diazohydroxide (NSC 361456) sodium is an anti-tumor agent that forms DNA adducts via the reactive pyrazine diazonium ion. Pyrazine diazohydroxide sodium can be used for the study of renal cancer, colorectal cancer, melanoma and leukemia[1][2].

In Vivo

Pyrazine diazohydroxide (sodium) (44.5-150 mg/kg, i.p., once each on Day 12, 16, and 20) shows significantly higher tumor cell killing effect on lung metastases in LOX melanoma ascites cells xenograft mice compared to primary tumors[1].

MedChemExpress (MCE) has not independently confirmed the accuracy of these methods. They are for reference only.

Animal Model: Female nude mice (NCr-nu) were subcutaneously (s.c.) inoculated with 1 × 10⁶ LOX cells, resulting in spontaneous lung metastasis[1].
Dosage: 44.5 mg/kg, 66.7 mg/kg, 150 mg/kg
Administration: I.p., once each on Day 12, 16, and 20
Result: Primary tumor: approximately 2.5 log10 Lung metastases: approximately 4.6 log10

Help & FAQs
  • Do most proteins show cross-species activity?

Species cross-reactivity must be investigated individually for each product. Many human cytokines will produce a nice response in mouse cell lines, and many mouse proteins will show activity on human cells. Other proteins may have a lower specific activity when used in the opposite species.
