3-Lauroylcatechin
3-Lauroylcatechin is a DPPH free radical scavenger. 3-Lauroylcatechin inhibits the activities of mammalian DNA polymerase α and β. 3-Lauroylcatechin can be used in studies related to colon cancer.

Biological Activity
3-Lauroylcatechin possesses DPPH radical-scavenging activity[1].
3-Lauroylcatechin (Compound 5) inhibits the activities of DNA polymerase α and DNA polymerase β[2].
3-Lauroylcatechin (25 μM; 24-72 h) inhibits the growth of colon cancer cell line HCT116 and human umbilical vein endothelial cell line HUVEC, with stronger activity against HUVEC[2].
MedChemExpress (MCE) has not independently confirmed the accuracy of these methods. They are for reference only.
-
Cell Line:human colon carcinoma HCT116 cells, human umbilical vein endothelial HUVECs
-
Concentration:25 μM
-
Incubation Time:24 h (HCT116 cells); 72 h (HUVECs)
-
Result:Exhibited stronger growth inhibitory potency than shorter acyl-chain catechin derivatives (compounds 2, 3, 4) but weaker potency than longer acyl-chain derivatives (compounds 6, 7, 8).
