Description

TRITC (5(6)-Tetramethylrhodamine isothiocyanate) is a commonly used fluorescent dye, belonging to the Rhodamine derivative family. It exhibits red fluorescence properties (Ex/Em ≈ 550/580 nm). TRITC can be used for cell labeling and imaging[1][2].

In Vitro

TRITC (0.3 μg/L; 5 h) contained in RHCDs is rapidly taken up by A549 cells, accumulates exclusively in the cytoplasm, and shows excellent biocompatibility with A549 cells[1].
TRITC, when encapsulated in PLGA nanoparticles, traverses the cell membrane to localize in the cytoplasm of ZP-free GV-stage mouse oocytes after 4 h of incubation[2].

MedChemExpress (MCE) has not independently confirmed the accuracy of these methods. They are for reference only.

Immunofluorescence[1]

Cell Line: A549 human lung adenocarcinoma cells
Concentration: 0.3 μg/L (as part of 40 μg/L RHCDs)
Incubation Time: 5 h
Result: Localized red fluorescence to the cytoplasm of A549 cells, with no fluorescence detected in the cell nucleus.
Showed no obvious cytotoxicity to A549 cells, with cell survival rates above 90%.

Help & FAQs
  • Do most proteins show cross-species activity?

Species cross-reactivity must be investigated individually for each product. Many human cytokines will produce a nice response in mouse cell lines, and many mouse proteins will show activity on human cells. Other proteins may have a lower specific activity when used in the opposite species.
