Iprindole hydrochloride
Iprindole hydrochloride, an opioid receptor agonist, is a tricyclic antidepressant. Iprindole hydrochloride shortens the immobility time in mice forced swimming test, which can be reversed by the opiate antagonist Naloxone (HY-17417A). Iprindole hydrochloride induces lamellar body formation but devoid of lamellar bodies. Iprindole hydrochloride can be used for the research of depression.

In Vivo
Iprindole (10-50 mg/kg; i.p.; single dose) hydrochloride shortens the immobility time in male ICR Swiss mice forced swimming test[2].
Iprindole hydrochloride's (20 mg/kg; i.p.; single dose) activity is reserved by the opiate antagonist Naloxone in male ICR Swiss mice forced swimming test[2].
Iprindole hydrochloride's (10 mg/kg; i.p.; single dose) activity is enhanced by inhibitor of its degradation Bestatin (HY-B0134) or Thiorphan (HY-W013375)) in male ICR Swiss mice forced swimming test[2].
