Raf family are conserved, ubiquitous serine/protein kinases. The Raf protein kinases are key intermediates in cellular signal transduction, functioning as direct effectors of the RAS GTPases and as the initiating kinases in the Extracellular signal-regulated kinases (ERKs) cascade. Raf family includes A-Raf, B-Raf and C-Raf, possess a Ras-binding domain (RBD) in their N-terminal regulatory region and can function as effectors of active GTP-bound RAS family
