Definition:
SKM-1 is a human cancer cell line derived from Peripheral blood and associated with Adult acute myeloid leukemia and Myelodysplastic syndrome. Its continuous tumor-cell growth supports reproducible mechanistic and pharmacological experiments. SKM-1 is used as an in vitro model of Adult acute myeloid leukemia and Myelodysplastic syndrome to investigate apoptosis, cell proliferation, cell-cycle control, inflammatory signaling, cell differentiation, and viral infection.
