SMMC-7721 is a human cancer cell line derived from Uterus, cervix and associated with Human papillomavirus-related endocervical adenocarcinoma. SMMC-7721 is immortalized or transformed by Human papillomavirus type 18 (HPV18). SMMC-7721 is used as an in vitro model of Human papillomavirus-related endocervical adenocarcinoma to investigate p53 signaling, apoptosis, cell proliferation, cell-cycle control, mitochondrial function, and cytotoxicity.
