Biological Activity: 4-Fluoro-N-methylbenzylamine is a secondary amine that can serve as a model substrate for BODIPY photoprotecting group studies. 4-Fluoro-N-methylbenzylamine can react with an activated p-nitrophenyl BODIPY carbonate to give the corresponding carbamate caged adduct; moreover, under 530 nm green-light photolysis conditions, it can be released from the caged carbamate conjugate[1].
