Description

Sodium thiosulfate (pentahydrate),GR,≥99.5% is a biochemical reagent that can be used as a biological material or organic compound for life science related research.

In Vitro

Sodium thiosulfate (Pentahydrate) is an antioxidant and antifungal. Sodium thiosulfate protects against cisplatin-induced hearing loss in children and is not associated with serious adverse events attributed to its use. The addition of sodium thiosulfate, Administered 6 hours after cisplatin chemotherapy , resulted in a lower incidence of cisplatin-induced hearing loss among children with standard-risk hepatitis, without jeopardizing overall or event-free survival. Calcipylaxis is a potentially fatal disorder of abnormal calcium deposition. Treat ment is multifaceted, and improved outcomes have been demonstrated with intravenous sodium thiosulfate; however, the use of this medication can be limited by its adverse effects. TST (topical sodium thiosulfate) appears to be a relatively well-tolerant adjuvant treatment for CC(calcinosis cutis) . The combined treatment of sodium thiosulfate, pamidronate and calcitomimetics has been effective and safe for the treatment of calcipylaxis, inducing complete remission.

Help & FAQs
  • Do most proteins show cross-species activity?

Species cross-reactivity must be investigated individually for each product. Many human cytokines will produce a nice response in mouse cell lines, and many mouse proteins will show activity on human cells. Other proteins may have a lower specific activity when used in the opposite species.
