2-(Naphthalen-2-yl)acetic acid  (Synonyms: 2-Naphthylacetic acid)

2-(Naphthalen-2-yl)acetic acid (2-Naphthylacetic acid) is a plant growth regulator that can improve the quality and yield of crops such as bean sprouts. In addition, 2-(Naphthalen-2-yl)acetic acid can be used as a probe to study the distribution of amino acid conjugation mechanisms in different species^[1][2].

2-(Naphthalen-2-yl)acetic acid (5-250 mg/kg; intraperitoneal injection/oral administration; single dose; excreta collected for up to 6 days) can conjugate with glycine, glutamine, taurine and glucuronic acid in female Wistar rats, female Dutch rabbits and mongrel ferrets, and there is bile excretion and enterohepatic circulation in rats, with the metabolic pattern being dose-dependent^[2].
