4-Hydroxy-3-methylbut-2-en-1-yl diphosphate reductase

4-Hydroxy-3-methylbut-2-en-1-yl diphosphate reductase (EC 1.17.7.4) is an oxidoreductase that can catalyze multiple reactions, including reaction 1: convert isopentenyl diphosphate, 2 oxidized [2Fe-2S]-[ferredoxin] and H2O into (2E)-4-hydroxy-3-methylbut-2-enyl diphosphate, 2 reduced [2Fe-2S]- [ferredoxin] and 2 H+; reaction 2: convert dimethylallyl diphosphate, 2 oxidized [2Fe-2S]-[ferredoxin] and H2O into (2E)-4-hydroxy-3-methylbut-2-enyl diphosphate, 2 reduced [2Fe-2S]- [ferredoxin] and 2 H+.
