Description

Carbonic anhydrase-IN-38 (compound 5c) is a carbonic anhydrase inhibitor with antiproliferative activity, with Ki values of 576.2 nM, 41.3 nM and 86.9 nM against hCA VII, hCA IX and hCA XII, respectively. Carbonic anhydrase-IN-38 can be used in research related to triple-negative breast cancer and glioblastoma[1].

In Vitro

Carbonic anhydrase-IN-38 (compound 5c) (15 min) inhibits recombinant human hCA I, II, VA, VII, IX, and XII with Ki values of 26300 nM, 3700 nM, 5949 nM, 576.2 nM, 41.3 nM, and 86.9 nM, respectively, and shows no measurable inhibition of hCA IV[1].
Carbonic anhydrase-IN-38 (72 h; hypoxic conditions) potently inhibits the proliferation of hypoxic human MDA-MB-231 triple-negative breast cancer cells with an IC50 of 2.4 μM and hypoxic human U87MG glioblastoma cells with an IC50 of 3.6 μM[1].

Help & FAQs
  • Do most proteins show cross-species activity?

Species cross-reactivity must be investigated individually for each product. Many human cytokines will produce a nice response in mouse cell lines, and many mouse proteins will show activity on human cells. Other proteins may have a lower specific activity when used in the opposite species.
