Description

CCG-120304 is a TonB system inhibitor and bacteriostatic agent. CCG-120304 inhibits TonB-dependent functions. CCG-120304 is applicable to research related to urinary tract infections[1].

In Vitro

CCG-120304 (0.39-100 μM; 16-20 h) inhibits growth of UPEC CFT073 ΔtolC::kan under iron-limiting conditions with an AC50 of 11 μM, acts as a bacteriostatic agent without disrupting proton motive force, and its inhibitory effect is reversed by excess iron[1].
CCG-120304 (0.39-100 μM; 16 h) specifically targets the TonB system in UPEC, as its growth inhibitory activity is abrogated in TonB-deficient strains and reversed by TonB overexpression[1].
CCG-120304 (100 μM; 20 min) inhibits TonB-dependent function in E. coli, as demonstrated by its ability to block irreversible adsorption of the TonB-dependent bacteriophage λh80 without affecting TonB-independent phage adsorption[1].

Help & FAQs
  • Do most proteins show cross-species activity?

Species cross-reactivity must be investigated individually for each product. Many human cytokines will produce a nice response in mouse cell lines, and many mouse proteins will show activity on human cells. Other proteins may have a lower specific activity when used in the opposite species.
