CDK10

CDK10 is a cell-cycle-regulated CMGC/CDK-family kinase that partners with the atypical cyclin M and acts in transcription elongation and genome stability. It functions as a tumor suppressor: CDK10 is silenced in breast tumors and in some gastric and colon cancers, and its loss drives tamoxifen resistance by derepressing ETS2-mediated RAF-MAPK signaling. CDK10 also influences ciliary function and development, as biallelic variants cause a syndrome with growth retardation, dysmorphism and retinopathy. Closely related to the CDK11 paralogs, it is distinguished from cell-cycle CDK1-CDK6 by its transcription-linked cyclin pairing and its epigenetically regulated expression.
