Description

Dextran sulfate sodium salt (MW>500000) (DSS (MW>500000)) is a negatively charged sulfated polysaccharide. Dextran sulfate sodium salt has antiviral, antibacterial, anti-inflammatory, antifibrotic, and wound-healing properties. Dextran sulfate sodium salt can be used as an additive in cell culture media for preventing cell aggregation and in cosmetics as a gel-forming agent[1].

In Vitro

Dextran sulfate sodium salt (MW>500000) (0-1000 μg/mL; 48 h) potently inhibits HSV-1, HCoV-229E, LV-St and LV-VSV infection without obvious cytotoxicity in Vero, Huh-7 and ACE2+HEK293T cells[1].
