Garcinia cambogia extract is an orally active anti-obesity agent[1]. Garcinia cambogia extract upregulates the gene expression of aP2, SREBP1c, PPARγ2 and C/EBPα. Garcinia cambogia extract (10000 ppm; dietary incorporation; ad libitum daily; 12 weeks) reduces HFD-induced obesity in male C57BL/6J mice by decreasing body weight gain, visceral adiposity, and dyslipidemia, and normalizing adipogenesis-related gene expression in visceral fat tissue[1].
