Cnga2 - cyclic nucleotide gated channel alpha 2 Gene
Also Known as CNG2; Cnca; Cncg4; OCNC1
Species: Mus musculus
Summary
This gene encodes a transmembrane protein that is the main subunit of the nucleotide-gated olfactory ion channel, which plays a key role in transducing chemosensory signal resulting from hydrogen sulphide exposure. Signaling pathways mediated by this gene operate in the cilia of type B cells. Knock out of this gene affects development of the olfactory epithelium and olfactory bulb.
