Glucose 6-phosphate dehydrogenase (yeast, recombinant) (G6PD (yeast, recombinant)) is a recombinant enzyme requiring NADP+ as a coenzyme. Glucose 6-phosphate dehydrogenase (yeast, recombinant) catalyzes the oxidative dehydrogenation of glucose-6-phosphate to form 6-phosphoglucono-δ-lactone, as well as the reduction of NADP+ to NADPH. Glucose 6-phosphate dehydrogenase (yeast, recombinant) relies on the amino acid Arg-52 to bind NADP+. Glucose 6-phosphate dehydrogenase (yeast, recombinant) undergoes competitive inhibition by NADPH and strong inhibition by zinc ions (Zn2+). Glucose 6-phosphate dehydrogenase (yeast, recombinant) is an enzyme in the pentose phosphate pathway, which is one of the glucose metabolic pathways. Glucose 6-phosphate dehydrogenase (yeast, recombinant) can be used for the quantitative detection of ATP, glucose and creatine kinase.

Glucose 6-phosphate dehydrogenase (yeast, recombinant) (G6PD (yeast, recombinant)) (1 mM, 2 mM, 0.2 mM; 20 h, 20 min, 25 °C) is a tetrameric, strictly NADP+-dependent enzyme with an optimal pH of 8.5, optimal temperature of 47.5 °C, a Km for NADP+ of 33.3 µM, and is strongly inhibited by Zn2+ and NADPH (Ki = 56.04 µM)[1].
Glucose 6-phosphate dehydrogenase (yeast, recombinant) (1 mM, 2 mM, 0.2 mM, 0.2 mg/mL; 20 h, 25 °C) has Arg-52 as an essential determinant for NADP+ binding, as the R52D mutant loses all NADP+-dependent activity; only the quadruple R52D/S53Q/Y93V/A124S mutant gains weak NAD+-dependent activity with a Km of 3929 µM, with no change to enzyme structure or oligomerization[1].
