Dankasterone A
Dankasterone A is a secondary metabolite. Dankasterone A can be derived from the Fungus Talaromyces purpurogenu. Dankasterone A upregulates HO-1 protein expression, induces Apoptosis, induces excessive ROS production. Dankasterone A has anti-cancer activity against prostate cancer.

Dankasterone A (72 h) dose-dependently inhibits viability of PC-3 and 22Rv1 prostate cancer cells with IC50 values of 5.10 μM and 3.41 μM, respectively[1].
Dankasterone A (2.5-10 μM; 48 h) dose-dependently increases HO-1 protein expression in PC-3 and 22Rv1 prostate cancer cells[1].
