(S)-Higenamine 4'-O-beta-D-glucoside
(S)-Higenamine 4'-O-beta-D-glucoside ((S)-Norcocalurine 4′-O-glucoside) is the S-isomer of Higenamine 4'-O-beta-D-glucoside. Higenamine 4'-O-beta-D-glucoside is a β2-adrenergic receptor-targeted agonist that induces glucose uptake and regulates blood glucose levels. (S)-Higenamine 4'-O-beta-D-glucoside can be used in the research of type 2 diabetes.

Biological Activity
Description
In Vitro
Higenamine 4'-O-beta-D-glucoside (0.5-100 μM; 4 h) promotes glucose uptake in differentiated L6 myotubes in a concentration-dependent manner[1].
Higenamine 4'-O-beta-D-glucoside (10 μM; 4 h) enhances glucose uptake in differentiated L6 myotubes via a β2-adrenergic receptor-mediated pathway, and this process is independent of the PI3K and AMPK signaling pathways[1].
