Biological Activity
3-Hydroxyproline (Compound 2) (1.5 mg/mL; 20 min pre-incubation, 40 min reaction incubation) potently inhibits Saccharomyces cerevisiae α-glucosidase (IC50 = 5.3 μg/mL), effectively inhibits rat intestinal α-glucosidase (IC50 = 100 μg/mL) and Bacillus stearothermophilus α-glucosidase (IC50 = 142 μg/mL), and shows no activity against rice α-glucosidase[1].
