4-Arm-PEG5000-Dopamine
4-Arm-PEG5000-Dopamine is a four-armed PEG derivative. Its core structure consists of four PEG chains, each terminal of which is modified with dopamine (DA) molecules. 4-Arm-PEG5000-Dopamine is used for surface modification, functional hydrogel preparation, and composite material construction.

Biological Activity
The structure of PEG-Dopamine comprises two key parts that work synergistically:
Dopamine (DA): Contains a catechol group (-OH) and an amino group (-NH2), exhibiting good nucleophilicity and reducing properties. The catechol group can form coordination bonds with metal ions or self-polymerize under oxidative conditions to form a polydopamine (PDA) layer. The amino group provides further chemical reaction sites for covalent coupling or crosslinking.
PEG chains: acting as hydrophilic spacer arms, they form a hydration layer on the particle surface, reducing non-specific adsorption and immune system recognition and clearance, thus prolonging the carrier's circulation time in vivo.
MedChemExpress (MCE) has not independently confirmed the accuracy of these methods. They are for reference only.
