Antimicrobial agent-57
Antimicrobial agent-57 is an agricultural antimicrobial agent that acts as a mitochondrial respiratory chain complex III inhibitor (IC50 = 8.82 mg/L). Antimicrobial agent-57 binds to the Qo site, disrupts the mitochondrial respiratory chain of P. capsici, and inhibits respiration. Antimicrobial agent-57 induces ultrastructural damage to hyphae, including cell wall thickening, mitochondrial degradation, vacuole enlargement, and lipid droplet reduction. Antimicrobial agent-57 inhibits hyphal respiratory metabolism. Antimicrobial agent-57 can be used for research on Phytophthora capsici infection.

In Vitro
Antimicrobial agent-57 (compound A6) (50 mg/L) exhibits the most potent antioomycete activity against P. capsici with an EC50 of 1.24 mg/L[1].
Antimicrobial agent-57 (1.24 mg/L) causes significant morphological damage to P. capsici hyphae, resulting in desiccation, shriveling, and partial degradation[1].
Antimicrobial agent-57 (1.24 mg/L) causes significant toxicological damage to the cellular ultrastructure of P. capsici, including cell wall thickening, lipid droplet reduction, mitochondrial degradation, and vacuole enlargement[1].
