A375/TxR
Definition:
A375/TxR is a paclitaxel-resistant derivative of the human A375 melanoma lineage, whose parental line was established from a human solid tumor[1-3]. The resistant subline has been used in vitro and as a mouse xenograft to test agents that bypass taxane resistance, particularly colchicine-site tubulin inhibitors[2][3]. Studies report inhibition of A375/TxR proliferation, colony formation, migration, tumor growth, and spontaneous metastasis, together with G2/M arrest, apoptosis, and disruption of microtubule assembly, making A375/TxR a model for melanoma taxane resistance and antimitotic drug evaluation; paclitaxel resistance is a laboratory-selected phenotype rather than the parental disease of origin[2][3].
