Definition:
BPH-1 is a human transformed cell line derived from Prostate and associated with Benign prostatic hyperplasia. BPH-1 is immortalized or transformed by Simian virus 40 (SV40). BPH-1 is used as an in vitro model of Benign prostatic hyperplasia to investigate p53 signaling, VEGF signaling, cell proliferation, cell migration, inflammatory signaling, and angiogenesis.
