HEL is a human Erythroblast-derived cancer cell line derived from Peripheral blood and associated with Erythroleukemia and Acute erythroid leukemia. Its continuous tumor-cell growth supports reproducible mechanistic and pharmacological experiments. HEL is used as an in vitro model of Erythroleukemia and Acute erythroid leukemia to investigate PI3K-AKT signaling, AKT signaling, mTOR signaling, MAPK signaling, JAK-STAT signaling, and apoptosis.
