Host-directed therapy (HDT)
Definition:
Host-directed therapeutics, also called host targeted therapeutics, act via a host-mediated response to pathogens rather than acting directly on the pathogen. Host-directed therapeutics may limit pathogen proliferation, e.g., have bacteriostatic effects.
