Hymenolepiasis
Definition:
Hymenolepiasis is an infection caused by two species of tapeworm, Hymenolepis nana and H. diminuta, that are common in tropical and subtropical climates. H. nana mostly causes human infections, the source of which is contaminated food and fecal exposure.
