Definition:

LLC-MK2 is a macaque spontaneously immortalized cell line derived from Kidney. Its spontaneous immortalization permits extended propagation while retaining lineage-associated properties. LLC-MK2 is used to investigate mTOR signaling, autophagy, host-pathogen interactions, and viral infection in a controlled cellular system.
