Definition:
ME-180 is a human cancer cell line derived from Omentum and associated with Human papillomavirus-related cervical squamous cell carcinoma and Squamous cell carcinoma of the cervix uteri. ME-180 is immortalized or transformed by Human papillomavirus type 68 (HPV68). ME-180 is used as an in vitro model of Human papillomavirus-related cervical squamous cell carcinoma and Squamous cell carcinoma of the cervix uteri to investigate PI3K-AKT signaling, mTOR signaling, apoptosis, cell proliferation, and inflammatory signaling.
