Definition:

Mitochondrial SHMT (SHMT2) is the mitochondrial serine hydroxymethyltransferase, a key enzyme in one-carbon metabolism. Mitochondrial SHMT (SHMT2) may serve as a prognostic marker and a target for anticancer research.
