P388CPT5

Definition:

P388/CPT5 is a camptothecin-resistant subline of murine P388 leukemia cells that shows reduced sensitivity to topoisomerase I poisons, including rebeccamycin analogues and lamellarin D, and carries altered topoisomerase I activity or a mutated top1 gene in the cited studies[1-3]. The line does not necessarily show cross-resistance to microtubule-directed taxanes and is used for cytotoxicity profiling, cross-resistance testing, topoisomerase I-DNA cleavage studies, and screening agents designed to retain activity against camptothecin-resistant leukemia[2]. P388CPT5 is a laboratory-engineered drug-resistant model for target-specific resistance mechanisms, not a separate leukemia diagnosis or independent disease of origin.
