PHA-Ly

PHA-stimulated lymphocytes are peripheral lymphocytes activated with the mitogen phytohemagglutinin rather than a single clonal cell line. Their biological composition and functional state depend on tissue source, donor characteristics, isolation method, activation status, and culture conditions. Published studies use these cells to investigate pharmacological response and treatment sensitivity, cell signaling, host-pathogen interactions, differentiation or developmental mechanisms. The term denotes a cell population or experimental preparation rather than a single authenticated clonal line. Accordingly, disease names reported in individual studies usually describe the donor, sample context, or model application and should not automatically be interpreted as a universal disease of origin. Experimental reports should specify species, anatomical source, isolation or differentiation procedure, culture conditions, and relevant phenotypic markers so results can be interpreted and reproduced^[1][2].
