Definition:
TPC1 is a human cancer cell line derived from Thyroid gland and associated with Thyroid gland papillary carcinoma and Differentiated thyroid carcinoma. Its continuous tumor-cell growth supports reproducible mechanistic and pharmacological experiments. TPC1 is used as an in vitro model of Thyroid gland papillary carcinoma and Differentiated thyroid carcinoma to investigate mTOR signaling, cell proliferation, endoplasmic-reticulum organization, and gene-expression regulation.
