Antigen-Adjuvant Conjugate

Antigen-adjuvant conjugates (AACs) are engineered molecules that covalently link an antigen to an adjuvant, enabling synchronized delivery to antigen-presenting cells (APCs), particularly dendritic cells (DCs), thereby enhancing both cellular and humoral immune responses. This strategy promotes DC maturation, improves antigen processing and presentation, and allows for reduced adjuvant dosage with lower systemic toxicity compared to mixed formulations. AACs are especially promising in therapeutic cancer vaccines, where efficient induction of tumor-specific T cell responses is critical. Peptide-based vaccines benefit from this approach due to their biocompatibility and dosing precision. Additionally, proper immune function relies on adequate intake of key nutrients such as vitamins A, C, D, E, selenium, and zinc, whose deficiencies can impair immunity and increase infection risk. While botanicals and probiotics are not essential, they may modulate immune activity.
