SMCC-PE
SMCC-PE is a dipalmitoylphosphatidylethanolamine derivative modified with the heterobifunctional crosslinker SMCC. SMCC-PE is an intermediate formed by conjugating the SMCC linker with R-phycoerythrin for antibody conjugation.

Actividad biológica
SMCC-PE (egg PC/chol/SMCC-PE molar ratio 6:3:0.5; 2 h high vacuum drying, 14 min sonication, 20 h incubation at 4°C) forms part of stable, predominantly unilamellar 200 nm liposomes that enable covalent conjugation of SFP-3 peptide with a 10-20% coupling yield, producing a final peptide/total lipid ratio of 1:400[1].
SMCC (10 mg/mL; 1 h) reacts with purified PE at 25°C to form the activated SMCC-PE intermediate, with excess SMCC removed via size-exclusion chromatography[2].
