Fluthiacet-methyl
Fluthiacet-methyl is an isoxazole herbicide and also a protoporphyrinogen oxidase (Protox) inhibitor. Fluthiacet-methyl inhibits chlorophyll biosynthesis in cotyledons of velvetleaf and cotton. Fluthiacet-methyl induces electrolyte leakage in cotyledons of sensitive plants such as velvetleaf and cotton. Fluthiacet-methyl induces the accumulation of protoporphyrin IX in cotton cotyledons.

Biological Activity
Fluthiacet-methyl induces electrolyte leakage in etiolated velvetleaf cotyledons (L50 17 nM), inhibits chlorophyll biosynthesis in etiolated velvetleaf cotyledons (IC50 10 nM), and drives dose-dependent accumulation of protoporphyrin IX in etiolated cotton cotyledons[1].
Fluthiacet-methyl (1 nM-100 μM; 60 min) inhibits protoporphyrinogen oxidase activity in etioplasts of etiolated maize leaves when dithiothreitol serves as the reducing agent, with an IC50 of 830 nM[1].
