Cy-AP exhibits no fluorescence under normoxic microenvironments, while under hypoxic microenvironments, its azo group is reduced, releasing strong near-infrared fluorescence with an emission at 725 nm. Cy-AP enables visualization of intracellular hypoxic status through multiple imaging modalities.
