Axin2 - axin 2 Gene
Also Known as Axi1; Axil; Conductin
Species: Mus musculus
Summary
Enables I-SMAD binding activity and ubiquitin protein Ligase binding activity. Involved in regulation of centromeric sister chromatid cohesion. Acts upstream of or within several processes, including animal organ development; negative regulation of osteoblast differentiation; and regulation of chondrocyte development. Located in centrosome and nucleus. Is expressed in several structures, including alimentary system; central nervous system; genitourinary system; integumental system; and sensory organ. Used to study craniosynostosis. Human ortholog(s) of this gene implicated in colorectal Cancer and endometrial adenocarcinoma. Orthologous to human AXIN2 (axin 2).
