PROKR2 - prokineticin receptor 2 Gene

Also Known as HH3; KAL3; PKR2; GPRg2; GPR73b; GPR73L1; dJ680N4.3

Species: Homo sapiens

Gene Type: protein coding
Gene ID: 128674

About PROKR2

Cytogenetic location: 20p12.3 Genomic coordinates (GRCh38): 20:5,299,218-5,316,954 (from NCBI)

This gene has 3 transcripts (splice variants), 123 orthologues, 33 paralogues and is associated with 5 phenotypes. Low expression observed in reference dataset.

Summary

Prokineticins are secreted proteins that can promote angiogenesis and induce strong gastrointestinal smooth muscle contraction. The protein encoded by this gene is an integral membrane protein and G protein-coupled receptor for prokineticins. The encoded protein is similar in sequence to GPR73, another G protein-coupled receptor for prokineticins. [provided by RefSeq, Jul 2008]
